DeWalt 20V MAX is one of the most popular cordless platforms in North America. It covers drills, saws, sanders, routers, and multi-tools. Most of these tools have a dust port. Getting that dust into a shop vac or dust extractor is the goal.
The good news: most 20V MAX hand tools share one port, and it is on the 1-1/4 in. port hub. The bad news: DeWalt miter saws use a much bigger port. Let us go through it all.

DeWalt Miter Saw Ports
DeWalt miter saws do not use the hand-tool port. The dust bag chute on a 10-inch or 12-inch saw is a different size, so an adapter that fits your DeWalt sander will not fit your DeWalt miter saw.
This is why a standard shop vac hose does not connect to a miter saw without an adapter. Tell us which saw you have and we build the part that bridges it to your hose.
Connecting DeWalt Tools to a Festool CT
Many DeWalt owners upgrade to a Festool CT MIDI for better filtration. The Festool hose is 27mm. Your DeWalt tool port is on the 1-1/4 in. port hub. The adapter steps the tool port down to the Festool hose end.
Use a 32mm-to-27mm reducer adapter. This fits into the tool port, which is the inside of the opening, and steps down to the Festool hose size (27mm OD).
Connecting DeWalt Tools to a Shop Vac
Standard small-barrel shop vacs use 1-1/4 inch hose. This fits directly on most DeWalt hand tools. No adapter needed in most cases.
If you have a larger shop vac with 1-7/8 inch hose, you need a 32mm-to-48mm step-up adapter. This is less common but available.
DeWalt FLEXVOLT Miter Saw
The FLEXVOLT 60V MAX miter saws (DHS790, DHS716) are DeWalt's largest cordless saws. They take the same adapters as DeWalt's other miter saws, so there is nothing special to order for the cordless ones. From there you can run to a shop vac hose or step up to a 4-inch main duct.
FLEXVOLT Circular Saw
The DeWalt FLEXVOLT 60V circular saw (DCS578) is a larger version of the standard circular saw. Its dust port is the same as the 20V MAX models. No special adapter needed.
Best Vacuum Match for DeWalt Tools
For most 20V MAX hand tools, a 6 to 12 gallon shop vac with a HEPA filter bag works well. Run the hose at the shortest practical length. Keep the filter clean. Replace the filter bag before it is full.
For miter saw dust collection, a dedicated dust collector with a 4-inch hose and a sawdust bag offers better capacity. Shop vacs fill fast when cutting hardwood or framing lumber.
