Full port and fit detail for this tool
The SKIL BW9501-00 is a 9 in. stationary band saw for the home shop. A band saw looks clean because the chips fall below the table. It is not. The blade drags fine dust down into the lower cabinet, and that dust drifts back out every time the saw runs.
The dust port is round and sits at the rear. A GulpDust PETG adapter fits that port on one end and your shop vac hose on the other. No tape. No clamps.

SKIL BW9501 Dust Port: What Fits It
The BW9501-00 has a round dust port at the rear. Our PETG adapter is built to fit it.
One warning. SKIL has sold more than one 9 in. band saw. The older 3386-01 uses a different port. The two saws look alike in photos, so go by the model number on the plate, not by the size of the saw.
Hose cuffs also vary by brand. If your hose sits loose on the port or will not seat at all, our adapter gives you a snug friction fit at both ends.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the SKIL BW9501 Band Saw
Unplug the saw first. Then wipe the dust off the rear port so the adapter can seat clean and grip all the way around.
Press the tool end of the PETG adapter into the port. It is a friction fit, so a firm push is all it takes. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end.
Turn the vac on before the blade touches wood. A band saw pulls dust down into the cabinet from the first inch of the cut, so the vac needs to be pulling right away.
Why Band Saws Need Dust Collection
A band saw makes fine dust, not big chips. The teeth carry that dust down through the table slot and pack it into the lower cabinet, around the wheel and the guides.
Packed dust is bad for the saw and worse for your lungs. The fine stuff hangs in the air long after the cut is done.
Pulling the dust at the port keeps the cabinet clean and the air safer. Any shop vac with the right adapter does the main job.
SKIL BW9501-00 Dust Collection FAQ
What fits the dust port on the SKIL BW9501?+
Our PETG adapter does. One end presses into the saw port. The other end takes your shop vac hose.
Is the BW9501 port the same as the older SKIL 3386-01?+
No. The two saws use different ports, and they look alike. Check the model plate before you order.
Does the SKIL BW9501 work with a regular shop vac?+
Yes. Hose cuffs vary by brand, so if your hose sits loose, our printed adapter holds the joint.
Do I need clamps to attach the adapter?+
No. The adapter is a friction fit. You press it in and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way.
Do you sell the design file?+
No. We sell the finished part. Each one is printed to order in PETG and ships from the US.
