Makita XGT 40V MAX is Makita's premium cordless platform. On the hand tools it uses the same dust port as the LXT 18V platform, so the same adapter works for both. That is good news if you own tools from both platforms.

Every one of them lands on the 36mm port hub, the same page the LXT hand tools land on.
Every XGT hand tool in that table uses the same port, so one adapter covers them. The SP001GZ track saw is the exception and it gets its own section below.
What Adapter You Need
For a standard US shop vac with a 1-7/8 inch (47.6mm) hose: get a 36mm to 47.6mm adapter.
For a Makita XCV04Z or XCV10Z cordless vac (also 1-7/8 inch hose): same 36mm to 47.6mm adapter.
For a Festool CT extractor (27mm Plug-it hose): get a 36mm to 27mm adapter. This lets you run Makita XGT tools with Festool HEPA extraction.
XGT vs LXT: Same Adapter?
Yes, for the hand tools. Makita XGT 40V and LXT 18V share the same port on sanders, jigsaws, routers and circular saws, so the same adapter fits both platforms at the tool end. Makita kept it consistent on purpose so existing accessories still work. The track saws are the exception, in both platforms.
If you are upgrading from LXT to XGT, you do not need new adapters.
Best Vac Pairings for XGT Tools
Makita XCV04Z (18V LXT, 0.5 gallon): The most compact Makita vac. Good for small jobs and portability. Uses a 1-7/8 inch hose. A 36mm to 47.6mm adapter connects any XGT or LXT tool to it.
Makita XCV10Z (18V LXT, 2.1 gallon): Larger capacity for longer sessions. Same 1-7/8 inch hose. Same 36mm to 47.6mm adapter.
Standard shop vac (1-7/8 inch hose): Works with the same 36mm to 47.6mm adapter. A 9-gallon Ridgid with a HEPA filter is a common pairing for XGT sander work.
XGT Track Saw (SP001GZ) Specific Notes
The SP001GZ is Makita's flagship cordless track saw. Do not order off the hand tool table above, because the track saw port is its own thing. Our SP001GZ adapter grips the saw port and opens to any 1-7/8 inch vac hose.
The SP001GZ comes with a guide rail. Makita guide rails work with aftermarket connectors to extend to any length. The dust capture on the SP001GZ is excellent, the closed rail system channels nearly all chips into the port.
For finish panel work, pair the SP001GZ with a Festool CT MIDI or Makita XCV10Z and a HEPA filter. This gives you clean cordless track cuts with near-full dust capture.
