Full port and fit detail for this tool
The Shaper Origin is a handheld CNC router. It guides your cuts with a camera and on-screen designs, so you can rout joints, inlays, and shapes with hand-tool freedom. All that routing makes chips and fine dust right where the tool needs a clear view.
The dust port is round and sits at the rear. Our PETG adapter fits that port and steps it to any standard shop vac or dust extractor hose. No tape. No clamps.

Shaper Origin Dust Port: What Fits It
The Origin has a round dust port at the rear. Our PETG adapter is built to fit it.
That port is small next to common vac gear. Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 in. or 2-1/2 in., far too big to grip it on their own. Taping a big hose to a small port leaks dust and falls off mid cut.
The adapter plugs into the tool port on one end and takes your bigger vac hose on the other end.
How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Shaper Origin
Clear any dust out of the rear port first. A clean port gives the best grip.
Push the tool end of the PETG adapter into the port. It is a friction fit, so it holds with a firm press. Then press your shop vac or dust extractor hose onto the other end.
Run the vac the whole time you rout. Steady suction keeps chips out of the cut and dust off the workpiece.
Why Dust Collection Matters More on the Origin
The Origin reads marks on your workpiece to know exactly where it is. Dust piling up on the surface can cover the marks the camera needs to see.
Chips left in the cut path also pack into pockets and grooves, which hides your depth and roughs up the edge.
A good hookup at the port pulls dust at the source. The tool sees its marks, you see your line, and your lungs skip more of the fine stuff.
Shaper Origin Dust Collection FAQ
What fits the dust port on the Shaper Origin?+
Our PETG adapter does. It plugs into the rear port and takes your shop vac hose on the other end.
Does the Shaper Origin work with a regular shop vac?+
Yes, with an adapter. Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 in. or 2-1/2 in., which is much bigger than this port. The GulpDust PETG adapter fits the port on one end and your vac hose on the other.
Do I have to buy Shaper's own dust hose?+
No. Shaper sells a woven dust hose sized for the tool. If you would rather run the shop vac you already own, our adapter steps the port to your hose. You skip the extra hose and use what is on hand.
Do I need clamps to attach the adapter?+
No. The adapter is a friction fit. You press it into the port and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way.
Do you sell the design file?+
No. We sell the finished part. Each one is printed to order in PETG and ships from the US.
