Every 27mm Dust Port Power Tool and the Right Festool Hose Adapter

27mm inner31.5mm outer6 tools

A 27mm dust port is the small round port Festool builds into its tools. The port is 27mm across on the inside and 31.5mm on the outside. Festool calls its hose system plug-it.

If you own a Festool CT extractor, the 27mm hose plugs right in. The trouble starts when you want to use a normal shop vac. Most shop vac hoses are way too big for a 27mm port. A GulpDust PETG adapter is sized to the 27mm port on one end and to your bigger vac hose on the other end. No tape. No clamps.

Below is every 27mm dust port tool we track. Click any tool to see its full specs and the exact adapter that fits it.

The Adapter That Fits a 27mm Port

Each adapter grips the 27mm inside of the tool port on one end and steps it to your shop vac or dust extractor hose on the other end. Friction fit, no clamps. Made in the USA.

27mm Dust Port Size: What the Festool Plug-It Port Measures

The 27mm port is round. It measures 27mm on the inside and 31.5mm on the outside. Festool uses this same size across its sanders, track saws, jig saws, and routers.

Festool builds its tools and its hoses around 27mm. That makes the brand work as one clean system. The catch is that the rest of your shop does not use 27mm. A common US shop vac hose is 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch. Those are far too big to seat on a 27mm port.

A GulpDust adapter solves that. One end is sized to grip the 27mm Festool port. The other end is sized for your shop vac hose. The connection holds at both ends, so the tool pulls dust straight into the vac.

How to Connect a Shop Vac to a 27mm Festool Tool

First, clear any dust out of the port. A clean port gives the best fit.

Press the tool end of the PETG adapter into the 27mm port. It holds with a firm push. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end of the adapter.

Turn the vac on before you start. With a sander, dust collection is not just about a clean bench. Fine sanding dust hangs in the air and gets into your lungs. Pulling it at the port keeps more of it out of the air.

Why Many Festool Tools Share the Same 27mm Port

All the Festool tools on this page share the 27mm port. That means one adapter size covers your whole Festool kit. Sander, track saw, jig saw, router, the port is the same.

That is the upside of a system brand. You buy the right adapter once, and it moves from tool to tool. Each tool page carries its own port size.

27mm Dust Port FAQ

Which power tools use a 27mm dust port?

Festool tools use the 27mm port. That includes the ETS 125 EQ sander, the RO 150 FEQ sander, the RO 90 DX delta sander, the TS 55 track saw, the PS 420 jig saw, and the OF 1010 router. They all measure 27mm on the inside and 31.5mm on the outside.

Can I use a regular shop vac with a 27mm Festool tool?

Yes, with an adapter. Festool hoses are 27mm, but most shop vac hoses are much larger. The GulpDust PETG adapter is sized to the 27mm port on one end and to your vac hose on the other.

Do I need clamps or tape for a 27mm adapter?

No. The adapter is a friction fit. You push the tool end into the 27mm port and it holds. The vac hose end works the same way.

Does one 27mm adapter fit all my Festool tools?

Often yes. The 27mm port is the same on Festool sanders, track saws, jig saws, and routers. One adapter size covers them all. Check each tool page to be sure.

What is the plug-it system?

Plug-it is the name Festool uses for its hose and cord system. The 27mm hose end is part of it. It is what lets every Festool tool share the same extractor.

Do you sell the design file?

No. We sell the finished part. Each 27mm adapter is printed to order in PETG and ships from the US.
