The Makita RP2303FC is a 1/2 inch plunge router. It cuts deep grooves, edges, and profiles in wood. A router throws a lot of chips and fine dust right where you work, so a good dust hookup keeps your view clear and the mess down.
The router has a round dust port at the rear. Our adapter fits it. Our PETG adapter plugs into that port and steps it to any standard shop vac or dust extractor hose. No tape. No clamps.

Makita RP2303FC Dust Port: What Fits It
The RP2303FC has a round dust port at the back of the router. Our adapter is printed to plug into it.
The port sits between a small tool port and a big shop vac hose. A 2-1/2 inch shop vac hose is far too big, and a small 27 mm hose is too tight. That size gap is why dust leaks when you tape a big hose to a small port.

How to Connect a Shop Vac to the Makita RP2303FC
Clear any chips out of the rear port first. A clean port gives the best grip.
Push the tool end of the PETG adapter into the port. It is a friction fit, so it holds with a firm press. Then press your shop vac or dust extractor hose onto the other end.
Turn the vac on before you plunge the bit. Running the vac while you rout catches the dust at the source and keeps your cut line clear.
