DeWalt DCW600B Router Dust Port Size and Vacuum Adapter Guide

The DeWalt DCW600B is the 20V MAX brushless compact router. It runs on the DeWalt 20V battery and trims edges and cuts grooves at high speed. A router throws a heavy pile of chips fast.

The router has a round dust port on the side. The port is 31.2 mm across on the inside and 38.6 mm at the outer flange. Those numbers come from the DeWalt OEM dust adapter (part DNP615), so they are verified, not estimated. A GulpDust PETG adapter snaps into that port and lets you hook up a shop vac or dust extractor. No tape. No clamps.

DeWalt DCW600B Dust Port Size: 31.2 mm Inside, 38.6 mm Outside, Round

The dust port on the DCW600B is round. It measures 31.2 mm on the inside and 38.6 mm on the outside. Those figures come from the DeWalt OEM dust adapter (DNP615), so they are verified from a real adapter, not estimated.

Most shop vac hoses are 1-7/8 inch or 2-1/2 inch. They do not fit a 31 mm port on their own. That gap is why chips spray out the side instead of into the hose.

A GulpDust adapter is printed to match the router port on one end and your vac hose on the other end. It seals both sides so the router pulls chips straight into the vac.

How to Connect a Shop Vac to the DeWalt DCW600B Router

First, look at the side port on the router. Wipe out any sawdust so the adapter seats clean.

Press the small end of the PETG adapter into the 31.2 mm port. It is a friction fit, so it holds with a firm push. Then press your shop vac hose onto the other end.

Turn the vac on before you start the cut. A clear bit means you see your line and your edge stays crisp.

Handling High Chip Volume on the DeWalt DCW600B

A router throws a lot of chips fast. A plain shop vac fills up quick and the chips pack the filter.

Add a cyclone separator between the router and the vac. The separator drops the heavy chips into a bucket so your vac filter stays clean and your suction stays strong.

Keep the hose short and out of your way. A long, kinked hose cuts your suction and snags as you guide the router.

DeWalt DCW600B Dust Collection FAQ

What size is the dust port on the DeWalt DCW600B?+

The dust port is round and measures 31.2 mm on the inside and 38.6 mm on the outside. Both numbers are verified from the DeWalt OEM dust adapter (DNP615).

Does the DeWalt DCW600B work with a regular shop vac?+

Yes, with the right adapter. A standard shop vac hose is too big for the 31.2 mm port. The GulpDust PETG adapter fits the router port on one end and your vac hose on the other.

Do I need clamps or tape to attach the adapter?+

No. The adapter is a friction fit. You push it into the port and it holds. The same goes for the vac hose end.

Can I print this adapter myself?+

Yes. You can buy the printed PETG part shipped from the US, or download the STL file and print it at home. We suggest PETG with 3 walls and 25 percent infill.

Does the same adapter fit other DeWalt 20V MAX tools?+

Not always. Other DeWalt 20V MAX tools use different ports: the miter saws are about 41.5 mm at the elbow, the jig saw and sanders use proprietary collars, and the FlexVolt track saw uses 31.75 mm and 47.6 mm. Check each tool page for its verified port size before you buy.
